Accessibility Statement

EnaResearch's accessibility status against WCAG 2.2 AA: measures taken, parts not yet evaluated and known limitations.

Effective date: Last updated:
This text is for information; the terms of your signed service agreement prevail.

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. In case of conflict the Turkish version prevails.

ENA Innovation aims to build EnaResearch so that everyone, including people with disabilities, can use it. This statement describes the product's accessibility target, what has been evaluated so far, the measures taken and the known limitations. It is deliberately specific about what has not been evaluated yet.

1. Nature of this statement

ProductEnaResearch (web administration interface, participant web area, and the iOS and Android mobile app for participants)
Target standardWCAG 2.2, Level AA (W3C Recommendation, 5 October 2023)
Conformance statusPartial conformance (administration interface); not yet evaluated (participant web area and mobile app)
Evaluation date31 October 2026 (administration interface)
Next reviewOctober 2027, on a major product release, or when the participant web area or the mobile app has been evaluated
OwnerENA Innovation

This document is a supplier accessibility statement prepared for customers' audit, compliance and tender files. It is not a third-party conformance certificate, a VPAT/ACR or a laboratory report. "Met" is used only for items closed by internal review. Full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance is a target; it is not awarded by this statement, and this statement does not determine whether any accessibility law applies to a customer.

2. Scope

Web administration interface (the Customer's owners and researchers; evaluated):

  • overview dashboard, study list and study pages (overview, protocol, participants, researchers, datasets, history and study dashboard)
  • data catalog
  • system administration (organization identity, logos and branding, language and region, person identifier, integrations, license, support and maintenance)
  • users and records
  • open layers: study picker, account menu, actions menu, copy wizard, confirmation dialogs and the menu drawer on phones

Participant web area (participants; not yet evaluated): sign-in with participant code and PIN, transfer status and daily summary.

EnaResearch mobile app (participants; iOS and Android; not yet evaluated): activation by QR code, link or manual entry, PIN, health data permissions, home screen and "Disconnect this device".

Out of scope or limited:

  • The sign-in and invitation pages of the identity service (Logto), and permission prompts of the browser and the operating system
  • Content the Customer enters itself, for example study descriptions, protocol texts, variable names and uploaded logos
  • Exported files (CSV, Excel, SPSS, R) and documents produced outside EnaResearch
  • The www.enaresearch.com marketing website

3. Conformance status

Administration interface: partial conformance. The administration interface is built against a WCAG 2.2 AA checklist that is part of the product's development rules. On 31 October 2026 every screen listed in Section 2 was scanned with axe-core 4.13 (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules) in both the light and the dark theme, on desktop (1440 px) and phone (375 px) widths, and checked by hand for keyboard use, focus handling and touch targets. Problems found were fixed; the final scan reported 0 violations on every screen in both themes, with one known exception (Section 6). The screens added that day (study layer, study dashboard and history) were scanned again with the same result.

Automated scans find only part of the possible accessibility problems. Recorded testing with screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS) and an independent audit have not been done. Full AA conformance is therefore not claimed.

Participant web area and mobile app: not yet evaluated. They have not been part of an accessibility review. The mobile app is built with the platforms' standard controls (SwiftUI on iOS, Jetpack Compose on Android); no statement is made about how well they work with VoiceOver, TalkBack, larger text or other assistive features until they have been tested.

4. Measures taken (administration interface)

MeasureWCAG criterion
"Skip to main content" link, visible on the first Tab2.4.1
Every action available by keyboard; scrollable content without focusable elements is a labelled region that can receive focus2.1.1
Visible 2 px focus ring in both themes2.4.7
Menus and dialogs close with Escape and return focus to the control that opened them; the phone menu drawer keeps focus inside while open2.1.2, 2.4.3
Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both themes; theme text colors checked by an automated test in continuous integration1.4.3
Information not conveyed by color alone: status dots come with text, links inside text are underlined, breadcrumbs are underlined1.4.1
Accessible names on icon buttons and on the logo upload area; charts have an image role and a descriptive name; the active section is marked with aria-current1.1.1, 4.1.2
Touch targets of at least 40 px on touch screens2.5.8
No horizontal scrolling on phones; content reflows instead of being cut off1.4.10
Respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" preference in menus and charts2.3.3
Accessibility linting (eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y) set to fail the build; new screens are scanned with axe in both themes1.3.1, 4.1.2

5. Language

SurfaceLanguages
Administration interface and participant web areaTurkish and English; the organization's default language is used, otherwise the browser's language
Mobile appEnglish and Turkish, following the phone's language setting
Emails sent by the ServiceThe organization's default language (Turkish or English)

Content entered by the Customer is shown in the language in which it was written. Other languages, such as German or Dutch, are not available in the product interface yet. The page language is set so that screen readers can pronounce content correctly (3.1.1).

6. Known limitations

  • Radix dropdown menus: while a dropdown menu is open, axe reports aria-hidden-focus. The menu behaves as a modal: the background is hidden from assistive technology and focus stays inside the menu, so background elements cannot be reached by keyboard. This has been left as it is on purpose.
  • Charts have a name and an image role; exploring individual chart values by keyboard or screen reader is not claimed.
  • Screen reader testing: recorded testing with screen readers has not been done.
  • Not every WCAG 2.2 criterion has been checked individually by hand; for example 3.3.7 Redundant Entry has not been verified for every multi-step form, and 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication depends partly on the identity service's sign-in pages, which are out of scope.
  • Participant web area and mobile app have not been evaluated (Section 3).
  • Customer content (texts, logos, variable names) is the Customer's responsibility.

7. Evaluation method

MethodAutomated scan with axe-core 4.13 (WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 A and AA rules) of every administration screen and open layer; manual keyboard, focus and touch target checks; automated contrast test of theme colors in continuous integration; accessibility linting
Date31 October 2026
EnvironmentAdministration interface in the light and dark theme; desktop (1440 px) and phone (375 px) widths
Not yet doneEvaluation of the participant web area and the mobile app; recorded screen reader testing; third-party audit

8. Planned work

  1. Evaluate the participant web area (sign-in, PIN, transfer status) with the same method.
  2. Evaluate the mobile app on iOS and Android: VoiceOver and TalkBack, larger text, contrast, touch targets and reduced motion.
  3. Record screen reader testing of the main administration paths: sign-in, study list, participant registration, datasets and exports.

This statement will be updated when each of these steps is complete, and is reviewed at least once a year.

This statement is reviewed at least once a year, on a major product release, or when a surface that has not been evaluated yet has been evaluated.

This statement is published in Turkish and English. Both versions contain the same information.
