Study team
The principal investigator and co-investigators of an EnaResearch study - adding and removing members, transferring the PI role and what owners can do.
- Admin panel
Each EnaResearch study has a team: one principal investigator (PI) and any number of co-investigators (Co-I). Only the team works with the study's participants and data; owners included. The Team page (title Research team) lists the members and the date each was assigned.
Required role
- The PI adds and removes co-investigators and transfers the PI role.
- An Owner manages the team only when the study has no PI who is still in the organization.
Add a co-investigator
Open the study and go to Team.
Click Add Co-I, choose a researcher from Choose a researcher and confirm. Only members of your organization (owners and researchers) can be added. If nobody is listed, invite the person first (see Inviting users).
Remove a member
Click Remove next to the member. They lose access to this study's participants and data. A co-investigator can also leave the team themselves.
Transfer the PI role
Click Make PI next to a co-investigator. They become the study's PI; the current PI stays on the team as a co-investigator. Use this when the responsible researcher changes.
If the PI has left the organization, an owner can assign a new PI from the study's Actions menu → Transfer PI.
Team changes in the history
Every addition, removal and PI transfer appears in the study's History (for example "Co-investigator added: …") and in the audit log.
